Rain again threatened to wash out the races this Saturday. When we arrived at Indianapolis Raceway Park it started raining. It rained for a short time and track crews went to work to dry the track. After the track was dry, we were able to get in some practice time on our biddergy.com #96 car. The car was fast, but not as fast as we would have liked it to be and we qualified 8th out of 16. Most everyone bolted on four new tires for the night, but we decided to only put one new tire on and it hurt us a little bit in qualifying. We started 8th in the feature and moved up quickly to 5th in the beginning laps of the race. After that, the car began getting loose and leveled off, leaving us with a 5th place finish.
Over all we were happy with the car. With a new motor combination, a new body configuration, and a new setup things went well. We learned where we need to get better and feel that with a few adjustments, we will get there soon. All in all we had a great night and the car came home in one piece.
Next up is Berlin Raceway for the USA Modified opener on May 22nd.
