We returned to Kalamazoo Speedway this Saturday with a new setup under the McDonald’s, Exteriors of Kalamazoo, Biddergy.com #96 car. It was way different from what we have been running and ran rather well for us throughout the day. We won our second heat race of the year and were looking forward to running well in the feature. Saturday was also our annual AMBUCS 50/50 night at the track. The AMBUCS group raised over $700 for the charity throughout the nights events. I would like to thank Kalamazoo Speedway and their staff for letting us do the 50/50 raffle at the speedway once again this year.
When the feature began we started moving our way up through the field. We made a pass on the #14 car just when the first caution flag waived, forcing us to move back behind him on the restart. When we got going again we started working to pass him again and were on his inside when two cars crashed in front of us. I made contact with the #14 to avoid the accident and cut down a tire and bent a few front suspension components. We were able to change the tire and get back out on the track, but were only able to move up a few more spots and finished 12th.
We are currently tied for first in hard charger points for the year having passed 30 cars in competition. Our next race will be August 1 at Kalamazoo Speedway as the USA Modified Series comes to town.
See you at the races,
Dan Frazier #96
